WPG Key Players
W. D. WATSON PH.D., P. E., R.P.L.S,
A graduate of both Texas A & M University and California Coast University, WD Watson holds a Ph.D. of Philosophy and several Professional certifications as a Registered Professional Land Surveyor in Texas and New Mexico, and as a Registered Professional Engineer in Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Louisiana and Arkansas.
With more than 52 years experience, WD Watson first began his career working for Humble Oil and Refining Company in Tyler, Texas and later moved to Seminole Construction Company in Lubbock, Texas, and then on to Mobil Oil Corporation in Midland, Texas. WD Watson then created his own successful company, Watson and Associates of Midland, Inc., which is now known as Watson Professional Group Inc and currently employs more than 75 people.

With more than 15 years in the survey and engineering business Peter Watson is now the Chief Executive officer of Watson Professional Group one of the industry's largest.
James D. Thompson,
Environmental Division Manager
As a graduate of University of Texas, Permian Basin (BS in Environmental Science), Mr. Thompson has a diverse work history in all facets of Environmental Management and regulatory affairs. Mr. Thompson has worked for private consulting firms as a project manager conducting Phase I, II, and III Environmental Site Assessments, soil and groundwater delineation and remediation, emergency response Incident Commander, and Hazardous Waste Management specialist. As a facility EHS officer for an organic chemical manufacturing plant, Mr. Thompson honed his skills as a regulatory affairs manager while implementing and maintaining a corporate EHS policy that complied with all EPA, OSHA, DOT, and DHS federal regulations. As a native West Texan Mr. Thompson also has experience with the oil and gas industries and all of the environmental challenges that are associated with west Texas and eastern New Mexico exploration and production ventures.
Thais Watson Ahlstrand, S.I.T,
Project Manager & Space Planner
A
graduate of Marymount University, Arlington, Virginia, she
received a BA in Interior Design in 2003. She is
currently working towards a BS in Surveying and Mapping
from Metropolitan State College of Denver, Colorado, with
a projected graduation date of 2010. Also, she is
currently working towards her Registered Professional Land
Surveyor license. Her experience includes
project management, space planning, CAD drafting, and
surveying.
Carol A. Watson,
Chief Financial Officer
As
an owner of the corporation, Carol Watson has contributed
to the company’s growth from its inception to its
current position as a highly respected consulting,
engineering and land surveying firm. Carol is responsible
for the financial control of the company and performs or
provides oversight for all accounting functions. She
assists in the planning, organization and management of
office operations and supervises a wide aspect of the
company operations from Human Resource Department through
Editor of all major reports released by the corporation.
She is a graduate from Sul Ross University, Alpine, Texas.
